I adore the characters of Eleanor and Park, they’re so unalike in so many ways, but I appreciate the character of Park so so much. It didn’t disappoint me at all, and dealt with the issues of mental illness, domestic violence, verbal abuse, bullying and poverty. After reading Fan Girl and loving it, I was super excited to read this. I have wanted to read this book for ages. But Eleanor’s home-life is chaotic, and soon all the made-up stories of where she says she has been, are found out, and Eleanor and Park’s relationship becomes dangerous. At first he tries to think of ways to rid of her, but the awkward silences stop, when they begin to read comics, exchange music tastes, it’s the beginning of an unlikely friendship, and soon more. Everything changes when Park reluctantly offers the seat next to him. Park, the quiet boy on the back of the bus.

Sometimes I think I live for you.”Įleanor, a girl with with red hair and odd clothes.
